An experience I know about is when I had really bad grades and I had to get them up in under two months because those grades were the final grades. They were the grades that colleges and universities were looking at you for. I was able to pass all my classes with a B or higher, but I felt like I had really messed up in school and I didn’t want to go through this again. I made myself a promise that this would never happen again. This school year I’m not failing any classes, but the real struggle was the experience, which was the time it took to raise those grades to a passing level and keep them up until the end of the year. The next semster of that school year I was able to pass those classes with a B or higher and another class with an A.
I felt like I had really accomplished something on that year, but I had to go summer school and make up a class that I didn’t pass. The only class I had to retake was spansih because I wasn’t able to make up the complete grade and ended up with a D at 68%. I haven’t taken the class in summer school because my counsler told me that if I took a higher level of spansih the grade would be fixed and passed. Today I’m taking AP spanish and that class has been made up, but now that I know this I have to keep up my grade in that class so I can pass both and not have to retake both of those classes in the end of my highschool year. This experience was a hard time for me, and my family was worried for me because if I didn’t I could get kicked out.
I couldn’t afford getting taken out of school at that time and now that I’m a senior I can’t fail any of my classes or I won’t graduate. I want to be good in school and graduate with good grades. I also want to be able to go to a college or university and get accepted with a scholarship to the area I want to study in. Now I’m on my final year of school and this is a struggle because I don’t want to mess up in any or all my classes because this year is the most important and I don’t get anymore chances after this.
This is the year that counts the most before I’m off on my own. This determines my future and I can’t mess this up. I could look back at all of this and think bad about it but really I can’t because this experience is what lead me to trying harder in school and keeping all my grades on check. This personal statement was started when I was in 11th grade and I’m finishing it off in 12th grade because I believe that I can add onto this experience and in a very good way. I sometimes regret this but now I write this as an accomplishment because I accomplished my goals by passing both classes in under two months and being able to say I worked hard to earn this grade
Some people may think that with this experience I might have been lazy in school but all of that has changed now. I’m a latino who is getting his education and plans on going to a university. Me and my twin brother will be the first to go to a university in our family and it is a struggle for us because it is two of us and that means that our arents will be paying for the two of us.
